Rihanna is currently resting comfortably at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her own single We Found Love, but she also appears three more times in the Hot 100 as featured performer on Nicki Minaj‘s Fly, as a collaborator with Coldplay on Princess Of China, and with her former top 10 hit Cheers (Drink To That). She will no doubt shortly make yet another appearance thanks to helping out on Drake‘s title cut from his upcoming Take Care album.
Apparently that’s not enough for the biggest female musician in the world, as today she premiered her brand new single You Da One (which will be available to purchase from Monday). Produced by the omnipresent Dr Luke, and with a little help from Ester Dean, You Da One is a pretty solid second single choice if not a little underwhelming.
Dr Luke is obviously giving popstep another go after his semi-successful trial with Britney Spears, but this latest effort seems a bit bland. Although maybe it’s because I’m growing tired of Dr Luke’s female solo artist production monopoly.
What do you guys make of it?
