Yuna, who wears a hijab, is a 25-year-old Malaysian singer-songwriter signed to New York based label FADER. Yuna first picked up a guitar when she was 19 and has since independently established herself within the Malaysian indie scene with her distinctive song writing skills, acoustic guitar and indie-folk songs; which gained her a large following on MySpace.
Yuna gained recognition with a track titled “Deeper Conversationâ€, taken of the self-titled EP which was acknowledged as the Best English Song at the AIM, Independent Music Awards.
Recently Yuna released the visuals for the Pharrell Williams produced track titled “Live Your Life†a soft-spoken indie track which sounds like a cross between Paolo Nutini and Corinne Bailey Rae.
