If you have been monitoring the Billboard 100 over the past few weeks, you will have noticed that Skylar Grey has come from nowhere to totally dominate the top 10 with her presence.
She was featured on Diddy Dirty Money‘s recent single Coming Home, teamed up with Dr. Dre and Eminem for I Need A Doctor, and hopped on one of the most talked about releases so far this year on Words I Never Said by Lupe Fiasco.
As you may have already guessed, the song attached to this post isn’t a cover version. Skylar was responsible for co-writing the original with Alex Da Kid, which then developed into the smash hit single that we know today.
Skylar is the first signee to Alex Da Kid’s record label Wonderland Music, and he is looking to give her a massive push this year à la “Lady Gaga”. Which is weird, since she stated on her Twitter account that she thinks Gaga is over-hyped.
Regardless, 2011 is definitely going to be her year, and i’m sure you will be seeing even more of her very soon (if that’s even possible).
