Damon Albarn’s Gorillaz were invited to the Live Lounge studios this week to perform the usual one-two combo of their current single and also a cover. Their single was obviously their most recent release Doncamatic, which features Daley, while the cover was The xx‘s most famous number Crystalised.

One of the most impressive aspects of these performances was the unusual choice of instruments that Albarn used. For instance, the inclusion of a Xylophone on Doncamatic enhanced the jovial, upbeat nature of the instrumental, but on Crystalised it really added to the haunting mood of the song.
