Today songstress Emeli Sande took to Annie Mac’s relocated Radio 1 slot to premiere her new single Next To Me which is taken from her forthcoming album Our Version of Events.
Worryingly, Popjustice also ran an article today talking about Emeli’s new album, and he likened it to the release of Jessie J‘s shockingly bad Who You Are. The comparison was drawn in that Emeli’s fantastic debut single Heaven is not a true indicator of the kind of material that you will find on her full length effort, infact it was suggested that it sounds like it should be a Leona Lewis album (which you can kind of hear in Next To Me).
I’m not going to go and write Our Version of Events off already, but after that insight I’m drastically lowering my expectation levels.
