For some inexplicable reason DJ Fresh was “relegated” to Trevor Nelson‘s show on 1Xtra for his Live Lounge performance today, with Radio 1 deciding to play a repeat of The Vaccines‘ 2011 session instead. Not that I’m throwing shade on 1Xtra, in fact his music is more suited to the style that they normally play out, but it’s certainly undeniable as to which station has the bigger listening audience.
Ironically DJ Fresh was meant to be there as part of the performance, but according big Trev he was struck down with an illness and couldn’t make it. Look as though he was *shades off* too Hot Right Now.
Anywho, enough of that. Rita Ora was there to take charge of the situation and she delivered a fantastic acoustic version of their new single Hot Right Now, as well as a cover of Gotye & Kimbra‘s new #1 single Somebody I Used To Know. Definitely a fitting song to choose considering that DJ Fresh and Rita Ora will most probably be claiming the top spot come Sunday night.
