Common‘s last album Universal Mind Control was released way back in 2008, so it’s about time we start to hear some new solo material from the Chicago based rapper.
Ghetto Dreams is the first song we have heard from his forthcoming 9th studio album The Dreamer, The Believer and it features the legendary wordsmith that is Nas.
The beat was produced by fellow Chicagoan No I.D., and it has a raw old school feel to it which is refreshing to hear. No I.D. also recently stated that he and Kanye West would be exclusively producing Common’s next album, which is fantastic news. Definitely one to keep an eye out for later this year.
