For some reason Chiddy Bang wasn’t put on either the “In New Music We Trust Stage” or the “BBC Introducing Stage”, they were somewhat relegated to the 1 Xtra Presents stage, although, to be fair it had some pretty big name UK urban acts such as Skepta, Wiley and Roll Deep.
Some notes about the performance though:
They were only allowed to perform two songs, so naturally they were Opposite of Adults and Truth.
When I interviewed them they said that this summer would be the first time they had done the ‘festival scene’, so forgive Chidera for being a bit ‘shouty’.
Because of the nature of the set, Xaphoon wasn’t allowed to accompany Chidera on the drums like he does during their regular tour dates.
I wouldn’t say this was their greatest performance so don’t be put off if you aren’t too impressed. Trust me when I say that their up close and personal gigs are much better at this moment in time.
