This is definitely the first remix we have heard of 15-year old singer/songwriter Birdy, and it comes courtesy of Photek who turns her piano driven cover of The xx‘s Shelter into a dark and brooding dubstep number.
We are normally accustomed to the sound of Birdy’s voice being accompanied by her trusty piano, but this time her haunting vocals are backed up by a thick layer of bass.
If this is the caliber of remix for her cover numbers then we can’t wait to hear what will be made with her own material!
