Although I had heard and listened to The Vaccines before the 2011 list was published, I haven’t posted about them previously. They were well hyped last year and have already developed quite a following.

Having been together for less than a year, the hotly tipped London four-piece already seem to be carrying the whole future of UK guitar music on their shoulders thanks to the unprecedented media interest that they have generated. This interest hasn’t yet translated into single sales, but their #3 position in this year’s BBC Sound list should do them a world of good.

They are signed to the same label as The Kaiser Chiefs and Franz Ferdinand so expect them to get an even bigger media push in the coming months leading up to their debut album release.
