The-Dream had a specific plan in mind last year when he released his free mixtape 1977; to act as the prelude to the next installment in his Love series of studio albums.
The mixtape was pretty well received by both fans and critics alike, which has set him up perfectly for the release of his first official single from The Love, IV: Diary of a Madman, a track called ROC.
Does it show potential to possibly match his earlier solo work? I’ll leave that for you to decide.
