Everybody knows that Skepta is my favourite UK emcee, but I’m not he is heading in the right direction with his new single “Make Peace Not War“. Unfortunately he has gone down the same route as several other rappers have done recently by using instrumentals from anthemic 90s dance classics.

Make Peace Not War incorporates several elements from C+C Music Factory‘s legendary “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)” which features vocals from soul singer Martha Walsh of The Weather Girls.

After brimming with excitement from “Dare To Dream“, “Make Peace Not War” is unfortunately a bit of a step backwards in my eyes. We still have high hopes for Skepta’s forthcoming album “The Honeymoon” which is due out Summer 2012 though.
