After disastrous efforts of Cheryl Cole and Nadine Coyle, I don’t think anyone thought that the most successful solo member of Girls Aloud would be Nicola Roberts. I really wasn’t keen on her before, but after being continually exposed to the massive egos of the other band members, I have to say that her personality and music is a breath of fresh air.

Instead of going with the usual pop producers like Fraser T. Smith or Will.I.Am, Nicola has chosen to take a bit of a risk by collaborating with producers Dimitri Tikovoi and Diplo on her first single Beat of My Drum. However, after listening to the single for the very first time I’d imagine that she is rubbing her hands together with glee because this track is actually a pretty massive tune.

Definitely looking forward to listening to more material and seeing this hit the #1 spot. Oh and can you please save a thought for Nadine and Cheryl who must be crying into their hands right now.
