Katy Perry has teamed up with Snoop Dogg for her take on Empire State of Mind, but being titled California Gurls it’s obviously not focused on New York – that would just be plain stupid.
According to Perry, this is a girls perspective of California, that takes reference of: Prince, the 90’s and house music. I’m not sure about any of that, but I sure do like the bass in this song.
California Gurls is obviously nowhere near the level of Jay-Z’s and Alicia’s effort, but it’s a catchy number nonetheless.
