I first encountered Ali Love back in 2007 when he supported Boy Kill Boy at the London Astoria. I didn’t think too much of him as a vocalist, but it was his band’s performance of Chic‘s seminal hit “Good Times” which was the main reason why I started playing electric bass. Straight up after the gig, I went out and bought a Musicman Stingray from some guy from America on eBay.
Ali Love’s solo career obviously didn’t take off too much immediately after that, so imagine my surprise when I saw that he was the vocalist behind Justice‘s 2011 comeback single “Civilization“, and now is the force behind one of the songs of the summer in Hot Natured‘s (Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, and Luca C) new release – “Benediction“.
Now this song obviously isn’t new, as it was premièred way back in August during Jamie Jones’s takeover of Pete Tong‘s Radio 1 show, but the big news is that they have finally made it available on Beatport.
