Premièred earlier tonight on Zane Lowe‘s Radio 1 show was DJ Fresh‘s brand new single “The Power“, which will act as the follow-up to his #1 single “Hot Right Now“. Acting as the replacement for Rita Ora is the reclusive Dizzee Rascal who has only shown his face recently in order to record several cameo appearances on other artists’ singles.
It’s quite a weird track on first listen, as “The Power” seems to try and channel Daft Punk for half of the record, then suddenly forgetting what genre it belongs to for the rest of it. Dizzee is of course no stranger to flowing over this type of music as it sounds like it could have easily made it onto his last record “Tongue N’ Cheek“.
