Diggy Simmons seems to have come a long way since we first saw him on Run’s House. Back then he was just a kid with a dream, but now he is in posession of a track which potentially could make a major dent on the Billboard 100. Of course it definitely helps if your dad is Rev Run and your uncle is Russell Simmons, but we will give him the benefit of doubt here.
Considering Diggy Simmons is also signed to Atlantic, it should come as no surprise that this song sounds like it was originally meant for Lupe Fiasco. I’m pretty sure I can still hear some of his vocals dotted around the track too.
Lupe passed on the Bruno Mars assisted single Nothin’ On You as well, but this bubblegum rap song produced by The Smeezingtons should be a decent way for Diggy to finally break into the mainstream.
