After hearing Strange Talk for the very first time with their storming single Climbing Walls I have to admit that I was instantly in love. The sheer quality of that song was confirmation enough for me that the rest of their material must be as equally amazing – and luckily I was correct.
Their debut self-titled EP is going to be released next month, and their label Neon Gold have given the Internet full streaming rights. I found myself bumping Climbing Walls in my house, my DJ sets, my car and on other people’s computers, and I can see the same thing happening with these new songs too.
Strange Talk are the first band that I can think of since The Killers released their seminal album Hot Fuss, who rely on their epically massive bass lines to give their songs energy, power and dance-ability. And I love it.
Pre-order is available now from the Neon Gold Shop and is limited to 1500 copies worldwide (500 vinyl, 1000 CD). I suggest you get your hands on a copy before I take them all.
