I’ve just got my hands on a promo sampler of Nero‘s debut album Welcome Reality, and there are two new fantastic tracks for us to listen to before we get the album in full on 1 August.
The first is Book of Harmony (which I think has since changed names to Doomsday). I have to be honest when I say that it sounds like something Pendulum would have made during their Hold Your Colour era. It has big beat drums, recognisable guitar chords, a choppy bassline, and a more than familiar voice over.
My Eyes sees a return for frequent collaborator Alana, who is once again on hand to lend her vocals. It’s a different sound altogether to Book of Harmony, but worryingly, it instantly reminded me of the Training Montage track from Rocky.
Neither song is what I was really expecting to hear from the talented pair, but I think that is part of the charm.
