Unless you’ve been under a self-imposed media blackout over the past 24 hours, the chances are you will know that Lil’ Wayne‘s forthcoming ninth studio album Tha Carter IV has leaked in its entirety on to the big bad Internet. Lil’ Wayne had Tha Carter IV scheduled to drop this Sunday after the MTV VMAs but that big release event has been slightly scuppered by the scene.
Of course his last landmark album Tha Carter III was also subject to leaks prior to general sale so it should be interesting to see whether he can maintain or better his record of a million copies sold in the first week. His reported beef with Jay-Z has begun with shots fired on track #14 – It’s Good – which has got him some good press already. A shrewd move maybe?
Mirror is a bonus track from the deluxe edition and it features rap’s go to male vocalist at the moment, Bruno Mars. I’m still not sure whether I like it or not as the production seems a bit too Avatar/Lion King for me.
