How damn good is Layla? We were stunned when she gave us “Smokestacks” but now she has returned with yet another belter, “Weightless“, which is an epic example of perfectly executed crescendo-pop. Tie together her sometimes whispery siren vocals with this initially unassuming instrumental and you have a very promising return to top form.

“Weightless” is also the title track of a brand new forthcoming EP that is set for release on 10 November, with a show at The Lexington, London prior to that on 3 November. Buy and buy in both cases.
