Updated: Katy Perry – “Firework”, “Peacock” & “E.T.”

Submitted by / 10 years ago / New Album Releases

Divisions of labour for production on Katy Perry’s upcoming album seemed to have been shared equally. Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and Benny Blanco have produced 3 tracks together, Tricky Stewart has produced another 3, whilst Stargate has been given 2 to work on.

Both of Stargate’s productions have leaked onto the net today, which means you can finally listen to Firework and Peacock (track numbers four and five respectively).

Firework has been officially confirmed as Perry’s third single from Teenage Dream, and after listening it does seem like quite the obvious choice. It is the most danceable track out of the three singles so far, and it has an absolutely massive chorus, following the path that Kelis has recently taken. On a side note, is anyone else bothered about the number of Firework related song titles recently? Originality please.

Peacock on the other hand is one of the most lyrically shameless songs i’ve heard in a long time. There is no kind of sexual innuendo in this song whatsoever (apart from putting “pea” in front of “cock”), Katy Perry just wants to see your cock – plain and simple. Luckily, the production of the song is pretty incredible, so at least it has a saving grace.

Teenage Dream drops in America next Monday the 24th, while the rest of the world gets it a week later on the 30th (or on the 24th via uTorrent). Global album release on a single date FTW, take note RIAA etc, this is why you continue to lose money.

edit: It seems like Teenage Dream tracks are leaking faster than a BP oil spill. This generally means that the whole album is about to hit the Internet via the scene. It would be unfair to post up any more download links, since the album sounds like it will be incredible anyway. Go out and buy it guys.

Bonus: Katy Perry – E.T.
