2011 has been a great year for Kaskade so far, not only did he place at #30 in DJ Magazines annual Top 100 DJs poll but he also took the crown as “America’s Best DJ 2011”. Kaskade is now looking to capitalise on his poll ranking popularity by dropping his seventh studio album Fire & Ice tomorrow in America via Ultra Records.
He has got some pretty decent collaborations on Fire & Ice including features from Skrillex and Dan Black, but the tracks that interested me the most involved Skylar Grey. Kaskade did a fantastic remix of her recent single Invisible, and it looks like she has returned the favour by appearing on a track called Room For Happiness.
“I’m a huge fan of her voice,†Kaskade said recently. “I just said, ‘You know what, I think your voice will work really well with dance music.’â€
“I’m really excited about the release of the song because I think that it’s one of the best songs I’ve ever been a part of,†Grey says.
“It’s about losing something that you had, and how awful that can feel,†Grey elaborates. “And instead of being depressed about it, looking at it as an opportunity to fill that void with something that’s better than what you lost.â€
