Bruno Mars – Liquor Store Blues feat. Damian Marley

I couldn’t help but feel majorly pissed off this weekend. Why? Bruno Mars’s arrest for coke possession. According to the report Bruno claimed that “he did a foolish thing and has never used drugs before”. Bullshit.

I’m not angry that he got caught, I’m annoyed that he was doing this shit in the first place. I’m sure that drug taking is rife in the music industry, hell, Kid CuDi recently admitted that he was doing coke to get through interviews then smoking weed to calm down after, but why jeopardize your music career when it has only just begun?

Not only that but this bust also jeopardizes the careers of Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine who work with him as part of production group The Smeezingtons, which I think it totally out of order. For some reason I had Bruno down as a potential Michael Jackson for this generation, but now I’m just not sure.

Liquor Store Blues is taken from Bruno’s debut album Doo Wops & Hooligans and it features Damian Marley who I love. I can’t help but feeling that his record label has leaked Liquor Store Blues in direct response to this weekend’s events though.

Regardless, it’s a quality track which again shows his terrific versatility. Rant over.
