I have to be honest and say that I had no idea what to expect when I first watched the video for Sex War Sex Cars Sex by London-based band Ulterior.
The track name didn’t exactly fill myself with confidence when it landed in my inbox, and when I saw that they were labeled as being part of London’s “Dark Rock scene” alarm bells were definitely ringing. However, I persevered, and upon first listening I have to admit I was left feeling pretty impressed with what I’d heard.
Their sound wasn’t as heavy as first anticipated, and they have a certain something about them which makes you feel that they can still be classed as somewhat original. To top it all off the direction of the music video is expertly crafted and very well executed.
I’ll be keeping my eyes open for more material from them when their debut album Wild In Wildlife drops in early 2011.
