Although Pendulum did a near 40 minute set at Reading on Saturday, but I was really only concerned with how their new tracks The Island – Pt I (Dawn) & The Island – Pt 2 (Dusk) went down in a live environment (unfortunately they didn’t play Self vs Self).
The short answer was pretty well.
The crowd was absolutely buzzing from previous tracks Salt In The Wounds and Witchcraft, so they were ready to go absolutely mental during Pt I, and even crazier when the beat dropped in Pt 2.
One other thing I noticed during their set was that their new drummer seems a lot more accomplished during live performances than their old one who was prone to the occasional error.
p.s. don’t be scared by the lighting in the video, contrary to what it looks like, they aren’t doing a tribute to the Smurfs/Blue Man Group.
