For whatever reason 679 Artists (the label that manage Marina) seem to be quite happy with trickling new material to us at a slower pace than a snail. Today they posted up a new video called “The Archetypes” which I presume is some kind of interlude from her forthcoming album set for release in early 2012. The video is of Marina’s new persona Electra Heart staring at the camera and generally looking beautiful.

It’s no wonder that Marina & the Diamonds has always struggled to make chart impact, when the PR work going on to promote her music is absolutely dreadful. It has been 4 months since the Fear & Loathing video, and 3 months since we first heard Radioactive. This isn’t a positive buildup to her album; the lack of updates are annoying and tedious.
