Example has just premiered the official music video for his solo-comeback Changed The Way You Kiss Me, and it provides us with a rare insight in to what one of his gigs would look be like if you were ever brave enough to venture to one.
Embarrassingly, when I first posted this up on the blog I assumed that Example had gifted some inexperienced rapper the chance to deliver a couple of verses during the mid-section (from 01:08 onwards). I was so, so, wrong. It was infact the man himself.
Why did I think this? Because it is absolutely awful. It sounds like he has collected as many Dizzee Rascal and Tempa T buzzwords as he could muster, and then jumbled them up in the faint hope that they formed a cohesive pair of rhyming couplets. Luckily for him, the hook and instrumental are both fairly solid, just about managing to compensate for the gross misdemeanor.
His Wretch 32 assisted Stone Roses knock-off Unorthodox charted in at #2 behind LMFAO this week (which is ironic considering that was exactly what I was doing when I heard the news), so Example will be looking to one better that result when this single drops on June 6th.
By the way, I’m not sure where this random hatred has come from, I normally feel totally indifferent towards him. I’m blaming it on the fact that I haven’t been to sleep for 48 hours. Normal service will resume after I get 14 hours worth of sleep tonight.
