Alicia Keys’s Performance @ The 2010 World Cup

Alicia Keys was asked to perform at a special opening concert to celebrate the start of the 2010 World Cup, which is being hosted by South Africa.

We’ve all heard her acoustic version of Empire State of Mind, but in this performance she decided to add a little twist to it:

“Tonight we’re in Jo-Burg,”

“Concrete jungle where dreams are made of/There’s nothing you can’t do/When you’re in Africa.”

“Let’s hear it for World Cup, World Cup, World Cup!”

Pretty cringe-worthy, but thankfully she didn’t add this ‘twist’ to any of her other hits she performed on the night, which included Fallin’, No One, and You Don’t Know My Name among others.
