Fresh from releasing their #1 album “Home“, Rudimental beat airport problems to play the Main Stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Londonderry last weekend. The band were stuck at Heathrow Airport after an emergency landing brought the airport to a standstill.

In order to make it to the event on time the group had to leave all of their equipment behind in London. This meant that they had to borrow everything they needed for their performance from both Chase and Status and Angel Haze.

Ella Eyre was quite anxious about the performance beforehand:

“Even with half an hour to go before the gig, people were saying ‘we can use this and we can use that’ I was thinking ‘this is not going to work.’ I was really scared because I wanted to happen” she said.

“In the end, it’s the best feeling to be unorganised and for the show to be so perfect. We just had to pull together with what we’re used to. It was just amazing. We’re such a family – it’s good we can do that together.”
