All the music blogs are putting this track up as a new Lupe song from his upcoming album “Lasers” but in fact it was recorded back in 2001. “Lean” was meant to be the first single off his Arista debut but he got dropped when president and CEO L.A. Reid was fired from the company. The Buchanans produced “Lean”, and there are rumoured to be another 6 tracks recorded from these Lupe/Buchanans sessions.
Although this song is old, it has only just been newly released. The fact that so many music “experts” have been duped into thinking a 9 year old song is a newly created track is testament to Lupe’s abilities, so enjoy:
