We were all treated yesterday when Frank Ocean dropped a free download of his brand new 10 minute single “Pyramids” via SoundCloud. “Pyramids” is of course the first single from Frank Ocean’s long awaited debut album, “Channel Orange“, which is currently set for a July 17 release date.
We’ve had a few bits and bobs from Frank recently, but “Pyramids” is the first track with proper backing instrumentation behind it. The sound is quite hard to pigeon-hole, but interestingly it looks as though he has enlisted the extremely talented John Mayer to lay down a bluesy guitar riff towards the end of the track.
