Although we have posted quite a lot about Tinie Tempah over the past few days, I promise that this will be the last one for a while.
Having already teamed up with DJ Whoo Kid last year on their first collaborative mixtape, the boys decided to spice things up by inviting a third member, Russell Brand, for their latest effort. Russell knows all about receiving a cold reception from the US public, so maybe he has given Tinie some key pointers in his bid to crack America? It’s a risky move to include one of my favourite comedians, as he is known to polarise opinions (even though these are just sound bytes from an interview).
As for the musical content of the mixtape, it’s full to the brim of what we would expect to be included. Tinie going over some of the most popular hip-hop instrumentals around right now.
I do have a word of warning however. For those of you who are fairly meticulous and precise about filenames and ID3 tags, prepare to get angry. The zip file that the mixtape is stored in looks like a bombsite when you unzip it. It still amazes me that in 2011 artists do not know how to name and tag mp3 files properly. If I ever see Whoo Kid I promise that I will slap him in the face. /rant
